almost anything we can't use....dropped off at "Great Finds" (Formerly Buy it Now Store, & J.W. McGrawth Auctions) on Hwy. 12 next door to "Saddles to Boots". they are always looking for furniture (especially dressers), antiques, tools, collectibles, and many more items. Nancy Eklund, co-owner, animal lover and incredible person extraordinare, has offered to take donations from individuals and sell them for us at no cost!!! 100% of the profits will go to WTH, rescuing horses, ending slaughter outside the US, and serving at risk youth.
We ask that volunteers work a minimum of 6 hours a week, we make exception for skilled riders, carpenters, I.T., electricians, "handy persons", someone with lovely handwriting/calligraphy skills, landscapers/gardeners, artists, and more can donate as little as 2 hours a month, photographers (still & video), video editor (and able to post to YouTube!), sometimes even on a one time basis.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help save horses lives
brushing and grooming horses
cleaning stalls & waters
handwalking horses
handyman/person (carpentry, welding, plumbing, fencing, & simple repairs)
We ask that all skilled workers volunteer at least 3 hours per week, but do not need to make a commitment beyond a one time/one job project. We ask you to go through our orientation, paid, or volunteer hours (10),
after 6 hours of "volunteering..."
If you want to work w/ horses, and are skilled we ask you go through our basic orientation and training, after 6 hours of "volunteering work" we will provide you with one ground or riding lesson, after 10 hours w/ another. We like all of our volunteers who work with horses to go through this informative process.
Every five hours of volunteering you will receive a lesson that is most in line with your needs.
If you have had some experience w/ horses, but are a novice ( concepts of handling, ground work, and riding, are new to you, we ask that you go thru 15 hours of training).
trainings for novices will be offered every 6 weeks and will be posted on our website.
